This is an amazing quote but I think that no guy could ever live up to the standards the Stephanie created, not even the ones that all you girls say do. Edward has a never aging quality that only gets better with time and I don't think anyone could out shine the intense personality that she gave him. I think that without the super human qualities Edward would be thought of as being a hopeless romantic or obsessive/needy. As in love with the character as i am, i have to keep reminding myself that he is not real, that way I don't get pissed when my boyfriend doesn't live up to his inhuman expectations.

I mean, yes, he is supposed to be this hundred year old guy well versed in poetry and allusions and metaphors and similes, but come on. I can see Carlisle saying something like this more, since he is from, like, the sixteen hundreds, whereas Edward is from the nineteen hundreds... need I go on and rant...?
i dont think that people should say that they LOVE EDWARD. you can mean that you love the character, but ladies, he IS fictional. I love the character, too. And the books and the couple of Bella and Edward. I really do! Now I am just looking for "my own personal Edward" and I know that he is out there, whether I find him now or later.

haha Stephen you are so sweet and cute to say you have found your bella, she is very lucky be glad ou read the books now you know what we want LOL and if you were already edward you are even more of a perfect man knowing so and having your bella , way to go!
haha funny thing is, my girlfriend made me read Twilight, and i got hooked. The books are awesome, and Stephanie Meyer is the best writer I've seen. And yes, there are guys out here that are like Edward. I've been told by numerous people i"m like him. Musically inclinated, intelligent, strong, caring, devout to one person. Never quit the search ladies, there is someone out there to be your Edward. I know I've found my Bella =]
