Definitly the Simpsons, considering they started the whole "animated stupid comic show" :P lmao, family guy is good too, but the simpsons is pretty amazing :D

...wow you are on an "obsessed with the Simpsons" application just so you could say that the Simpsons are gay. You really don't have a life and need to find a better way to use your time.

I agree with this guy right here. Family Guy is about pointless (but still funny) humor. The Simpsons is about a family that many people can relate to and that is in funny and humorous situation.

I do like the Simpsons better.

"Simpsons is rich with intelligent, subtle humor rising out of and informing well developed plot lines and multi-faceted characters. Family Guy consists largely of one-dimensional characters making random, disconnected dick and fart jokes."

Amen to that. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I love both but The Simpson's are king! The proof is in the fact that Family Guy has modeled its show on what The Simpsons created.
* A middle American family living in middle class suburbia
* Both families consist of 5. 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby.
* The man is the bread winner whilst the mum stays at home.
* Both lead men (Homer and Peter) are stupid, selfish morons (hilariously!)

For me though the fact the Simpsons are such a tremendous microcosim of society will be its ultimate legacy. It has the nuclear family but also represents most every cultural, social and economic group or stereotype that is symbolic of American society. It is truly a masterpiece of modern tv writing.

Cannot choose - both shows make me laugh endlessly which for me is what is key for a show like this, I'm proud to be a massive fan of both shows!

i dont have to think about this question for more than a second to know that simpsons is better. i really am not a fan of family guy anymore cuz of idiots who try to argue that that show is better than simpsons. simpsons is now and will always be the funniest and best show on tv.

I'm saying Simpsons. And the reason isn't because I have NOT seen Family Guy episodes. I've seen Family Guy up to Season 3. I have to admit, it has gotten pretty crappy. Their "flashbacks" aren't exactly funny, their storyline lacks a lot of stuff (that being said, the episode plot does NOT make sense).

The reason I don't like Family Guy, is because of some immaturities. Now I know that Family Guy is a show thats probably directed more to teens or adults, but I just can't seem to follow along with their jokes.
Speaking of "their jokes", SOME of them (by "some" I mean a lot); are copying Simpsons. You can find some on YouTube. And if you can't, I'll see if I can search through a bit and provide a few links.

I know Family Guy had their movie first, but to be honest, I didn't like it as much. A lot of it lacked jokes. And people I knew laughed at the scene where "Future" Stewy has a flashback where he met Jesus? That part I have to say is retarded.

What I like about Simpsons is their voice actors and how they provide voices for more than 1 character (except Lisa). In Family Guy, when they try to add new one-time characters (or recurring characters), their voice actors sound the same as the main characters.

I wouldn't say that the two families are exactly alike (in terms of characteristics and personalities), but some are the same.

Homer and Peter both go to a bar with their friends to get drunk.
Quagmire and Moe are the same (as they always try to take Lois/Marge as their wife).
Meg and Lisa share the role of being a unpopular student at their school.
I could go on and on, but I think we all got the point since there seem to be over 70 posts.
