Hello fellow Simpsons fans. Here are general guidelines to help everyone fully enjoy their time spent here.

For more detailed guidelines, including the very important examples of ‘things not to do’, please see the following articles:
Trivia - http://apps.facebook.com/thesimpsons/?page=article&aid=906
Quotes - http://apps.facebook.com/thesimpsons/?page=article&aid=999
Photos - http://apps.facebook.com/thesimpsons/?page=article&aid=1409
Reporting - http://apps.facebook.com/thesimpsons/?page=article&aid=1410

1. FIRST AND FOREMOST, NO DUPLICATES!! Please do not send in quotes, photos, trivia questions, etc. that already exist. Particularly if you are new here, look at the articles above for examples of things to avoid. The officers will try to make sure that there are no duplicates but we need your help.

2. DO NOT SEND IN SOMETHING MULTIPLE TIMES. Please do not send in quotes, photos, trivia questions, etc... multiple times if something doesn't show up right away. The officers have to go through each and every submission before something is added to the site. Please be patient with us as this does take a considerable amount of time and we do have other things going on just like everyone here.

3. TAGGING SUBMISSIONS. Please tag everything you submit properly, especially quotes and photos. If something is not tagged properly with the correct characters it will be rejected. We have thousands of quotes and photos – without a link to the character everything is that much harder to find.

3. SPELLING/GRAMMAR. Please check your spelling before sending in trivia questions, quotes or quizzes. We get many, many reports on these problems so please try not to add to it.

4. SUBMITTING QUOTES. Most importantly - PLEASE KEEP THE QUOTES SHORT AND SNAPPY. We will not approve 10 line transcripts! :P
Regarding the format please follow these rules:
* There is no need to put quotation marks anywhere as the program does it for you.
* If there is only one speaker, there is no need to put the person's name in the quote. Only type in the quote itself, then select the character from the list.
* If there are multiple people in the quote, you must put the person's name before each line. Do not double space between each line. One enter is best. Once the quote is complete choose the applicable characters from the list.
* If you don’t correctly tag the quote with the correct characters then your quote will not be accepted.

5. REPORT IT. The officers have only limited functionality to correct issues before they are reported. If there are any problems with anything, report it. The officers will then do everything they can to fix the problem, no matter how small. You will see the report option below the photo, quote (click on comments for the quote then you can report) or trivia question. Remember, the option to report a question comes up AFTER you answer it. If you report a question before answering it, you’re actually reporting the previous question and it confusing to see something in a report that has nothing to do with the question.

6. INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT. When submitting anything (whether its trivia, quotes, reports for anything, etc.), make sure you do not put anything inappropriate or offensive. If any of us see something that we believe to be inappropriate in any way, we will suspend you from the application for 24 hours. This is your only warning.

Please keep in mind that in the earlier days of the application the review processes didn’t exist or weren’t as rigorous as the current officers intend them to be. We are aware that at this time (March 08) there are still many duplicates in the trivia and quotes. The officers are going through everything that has already been added to the site and making sure it fits these guidelines, but with the volume of content here this will take some time. Jenny/Bubbles is handling the quotes, Matt is handling your wonderful trivia questions, and Scott is handling the photos section. And we are all pitching in with the quizzes and articles.

So, if something that you have submitted is deleted, it will most likely be because it doesn't follow one or more of these guidelines. This is nothing personal so do not get upset about it.

Thanks,
Your humble officers

When making reports on quizzes you have to be specific enough for me to work out what the problem may be. The following reports don't really help me:
"50% is wrong"
"I am not Bart"
"S"
"Name is wrong"
"Offensive"

These are more helpful
"Q7 - Bart's age is wrong"
"Q3 makes no sense"
"I am offended by the inappropriate homosexual references"
"This quiz has nothing to do with the Simpsons"

Also keep in mind that I can not see the logic of the "type" quizzes. If you think the result isn't accurate I can't do anything about it. Show your opinion in your rating, but don't make a report.

Thanks guys

Regarding quizzes, but Spanish this time:

Si usted está divulgando sobre concursos en español que usted debe ser mismo específico o no cambiaré cualquier cosa. Las traducciones automáticas no son ésa buena, satisfacen tan intentan hacerlo más fácil para mí.

For articles there is a new rule - If your article is an episode capsule/recap/summary then you must include in the article title the basic season and episode details (e.g. Season 16, Episode 2). If you don't it will not be approved.
