So . . . what is with Stargate killing off the best characters?

Janet. Awesome. Killed off.

Jacob. Awesome. Killed off.

Carson Beckett. Awesome. Killed off. (Twice!)

Elizabeth Weir. Not as awesome as the others, but . . . Killed off.

I don't want to love characters because I'm afraid the Powers That Be will kill them off.
