A lot is going on before next season starts, and we aren't sure who is coming back, or for how long so I'll use this thread to get any info I find to you. As of today I know that:

-Scrubs has been renewed for season 9 and will air Tuesdays at 9 after Dancing with the Stars completes its fall season. There is still no premiere date.

-Zach Braff has signed a deal to do at least 6 episodes, but he may appear in more.

-Sarah Chalke has been offered a deal to appear next year, but she hasn't signed anything yet.

-Judy Reyes has not been offered anything as of right now, but could return as a guest star.

-Bill Lawrence's new show "Cougartown" was just picked up, and Christa Miller is on it so we may not see much Jordan next year, although Bill Lawrence has said that he will still contribute to Scrubs. The show will air Wednesdays on ABC and stars Courteney Cox.

-Neil Flynn's show "The Middle" got picked up. It will also air Wednesdays on ABC. He may still appear from time to time as the Janitor, but nothing is official. It also stars Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond.

-ABC has released its fall schedule for 2009/2010, and Donald Faison's pilot, "The Law" was not one of the shows picked up, so Turk should be around next year although nothing is official right now.

-CBS also released its 2009/10 fall schedule and John C. McGinley's pilot, "Back" was not picked up, so Dr. Cox should also be around, but nothing is official as of right now.

-I haven't heard anything about Ken Jenkins, but based on his departure in the season 8 finale, it doesn't look like he will be back, but you never know.

I will post new information once I find it, and the posts following this one shouldn't be as long.

The show is going to focus around Turk and Dr. Cox as medical school professors. The students are going to be at Sacred Heart from time to time where they will run into people like JD, Elliot, Carla, and Kelso, who have all signed on for guest appearances.

John C. McGinley and Donald Faison are signed on for all 18 episodes.

Zach Braff signed on for 6 of the first 13 episodes.

Neil Flynn will appear in the premiere.

Bill Lawrence has said that all of the leads and regulars from the first 8 seasons will make appearances throughout the new season.

Sarah Chalke is pregnant and due this winter.

Eilza Coupe has signed on as a series regular, reprising her role as Denise. She is the only season 8 intern who is being brought back.

Dave Franco, younger brother of James Franco, was just cast as the first new series regular, Cole, a 22 year old med student.

The new lead character, Lucy, will be the new narrator, although Zach Braff will also narrate when he is in an episode. Lucy has yet to be cast.

The third lead will be a 30 year old man who returns to med school after burning out academically in the past. He has also yet to be cast.

I'll let you know when I find out more.

Judy Reyes will NOT be appearing at all in season 9.

And Sam Lloyd (Ted) will be leaving the show at some point in the middle of the season.
