The End of the World was a beautiful episode but so terribly sad. I don't understand why Liz did not tell Max about the future Max? I know the young and older Max could not see each other but why couldn't the young Max know what was going on?
I'm glad that she finally said that she did not sleep with Kyle but I wish she had told him why she lied about it too. Anyone else wish that this was more resolved? It was so painful for Max to see her with Kyle and I wanted him to understand why she did that.

You're right, it is a sad episode. As for why Liz didn't tell Max about the future, well, it's dangerous to know too much about the future, especially your own. If she had told Max that she was trying to change the future, he most likely would have tried to interfere, with potentially disastrous consequences. I'm sure that someday Liz would tell Max why she did what she did. Now that she successfully changed the future, it's safe to tell him what could have been.

As a side note, it's interesting to think that Liz's pushing Max away led indirectly to the potential for Tess's betrayal. Or maybe in Future Max's timeline, Tess did betray them, and that's what led their enemies to Earth? Any thoughts?

thanks for responding! I understand better now why she couldn't just tell Max because he might have interfered. I'm sure that before they got married, they must have had this discussion. I just wish that the writers would have put that explanation into the show.

That is really interesting to think that Tess would have caused their enemies to come to Earth. I think that in both timelines, Tess would betray them - and if Liz and Max had really eloped and driven Tess out of Roswell in the alternate future, I'm sure she would have been very bitter and would try and seek revenge.

well I've read all posts and there is just 1 conclusion..
Tess betrayed them in both time lines...
if max stays with Liz (like it should be before ''end of the world'') or if he stays with tess she betrayed them...

but I really wanted that she told him...
