Hey everyone-
It's not looking very good for our show :o(
It wasn't one of the 9 shows listed for next season...
I'm sorry but the executives at ABC are morons... They don't even give a show a chance to generate viewers anymore.... Remember Friends?? Their first season sucked as far as ratings go... We have to let them know that there ARE a lot of fans of this this show.
So- I found this:
"We all know that October Road is at great risk of being cancelled. For those of you who don't visit the OR site on
abc.com you should know that there is an active campaign going onto save it from being cancelled. Someone on the site has suggested that everyone send a leaf of appreciation to the execs at ABC. The idea is that if enough people send leaves they will see just how big and supportive the fans are of OR and hopefully they will decide to give us a third season.
There is proof that this sort of thing works. Several years ago my college roommate's favorite show La Femme Nikita was going to be cancelled. All of the fans were encouraged to send sunglasses (something that the main character always wore)in to the studio along with notes asking that it be renewed. It worked and the show was given a 5th season. Several years later the show Roswell was up for cancellation and fans sent in tons of little bottles of Tabasco sauce and the show was saved from cancellation. And just last year the show Jericho was officially cancelled by CBS, but fans sent in so many peanuts and notes of protest that it was revived and officially brought back for another season. Maybe if everyone who is a fan of OR would send in a leaf we could stop OR from being cancelled.
If you want to participate just send in a leaf, can be a real leaf or a paper one (probably the better choice), along with a short note that says what you love about October Road and why you don't want it to be cancelled. Also include your name and age if you feel comfortable doing so. You can visit the message board on the OR page at

Do a Google search on "October Road petition" and sign every one that you can find! Enlist your friends!!!
I think the sending a leaf idea is perfect though... We can afford one stamp, right??
