spanking and abusing are different and I don't think its a big deal. most spanks aren't hard enough to be harmful, and of course kids will cry when they're spanked cause they're being punished. I was spanked, and not gonna lie, I deserved it, but I would never consider myself abused. I have spanked my sisters as protocol with my family and I don't think it was bad. There are usually better ways of discipline but sometimes kids do not respond to yelling and timeouts, and a little swat on the behind gets their attention.

i agree i was spanked to and i was at a book signing thing in nashville and someone asked her if she spanked her kids and kate said only if its needed so whats the deal and its none of our busness on how they disaplian "THIER" children and i wish some poeple would just get of their back about silly things as this...."Media read me words very carfally 'its none of our busness' so mind your own"

Kate's a mom and was diciplining one of her children. The papparizzi were in the area of her house that they shouldn't have been, and invading her space and her children's space when she was diciplining Leah. What mother hasn't done that to her child??? I know that my mom did when I was younger. I don't concider it to be abuse. We don't know if that's what Kate has done in the past with her kids for dicipline when they won't listen to her. Why is it such a new thing to see a famous mom like kate spanking one of her childern in real life???
