i think having dogs around the house will be good for them. and the dogs will mature faster than the kids, so they won't be crazy and messy for a lot longer like the kids. and also, it's been shown that kids who grow up with pets are less likely to have allergies and other respiratory issues like asthma because they'll build up a tolerance for it. so they're really only doing their children a favor by having the dogs around.
plus, wouldn't you want someone new to play with when you're living in the middle of the woods with just your family? i know 7 other kids is fun but after a while, they'll want to be with someone new. how about two dogs??
