when they wrote the pilot, they didnt have the idea of the flashbacks with ross, chan. rach, and mon. and to evyerone else. half of the inconcistancies, are b/c they didnt write all ten seasons at once so some things they wanted to write b/c they are funyn even though they dnt go with ewhat haoobeded previosly. like the episode where chan haets dogs, thast funny even though in an ealier episode, hes platying with dogs

and also, its a sitcom!!! not a soap. its differeny

In the one where Monica and Chandler throw a halloween party Phoebes twin Ursula says "Shall we get me really drunk?".........
But in a later episode they state that she "doesn't drink"!

Here's just a few........
(1) Monica's apartment door number changes from 5 to 20.
(2) Rachels nearly husband Barry's surname changes from FINKLE to FARBER
(3) The glass punch bowl set Monika and Chandler they get as a wedding gift amazingly appears in the early early episodes before they were even together!!!
(4) On the very first episode 'The Pilot' if you watch it on video its a different version if you watch it on DVD - honest! Im sad enough to know it word for word and i nearly fell over when i saw the DVD version.

In the first season, wen Joey says to Ross, " You have been with Carol for 4 years"... then later all of them say "You have been with her for 7 years"
I dont get that!!!

Ross's birthday is october 18th (as said in 902)

but in one of the earlier episodes he mentions another month to gunther...i just cant remember which one....but it aint october.

he says december. its sooo annoying ! hehe.

The one thing that has always bothered me is that Ben and Emma have never met--and they are brother and sister!!! They never even mentioned to ben that he was going to be a big brother or anything.

Yeah and in another episode, near the beginning when its october, ross realise it was the day he and carol first slept together...and joey and chandler offer to take him to a sports game for his birthday...he says "funny my birthday was 7 months ago" which would make his birthday in march/april!!!!
So ross' birthday is in december, october and april/march!!

In TOW Rachel's Date Phoebe meets Tim, Monica's sous chef. She asks if he's Monica's boss, so Tim explains that sous is french for under. Why would Phoebe ask something like this when she's fluent in french?

Two things:

At the one on the beach Chandler is trying to see if Monica would ever consider him in a romantic way and after Chandler pees on Monica because of the jellyfish sting she says he will always be the guy who pees on her so there can be no hope of romance in their future and yet Monica and Chandler end up married with twins. However, this is another result of not planning/writing ahead with 10 seasons in mind!

I always assumed the apt. #s were different cause they moved upstairs after the first season or two. I would think the apts. would have the same layout plus that beam thing in Monica's apt. is gone. Of course, she does always live in her 'grandmother's old apt.' so hmmmmm, don't know.
