When ABC cancelled Boy Meets World, the original plan was that (after a year off, so in fall of 2001) the show would spin-off on the Disney Channel or, more likely, the newly started ABC Family as kind of a younger-geared Friends clone. They'd cut everyone but the four leads and it would take place with them in New York. That's why they ended it the way they did, to set that up. But for whatever reason that never ended up happening.

I think it would be great as a made for TV movie or a mini series, but I don't think there are enough people who would watch an entire series.

I would be afraid that it wouldn't live up to the original series. But if it did, I would sooo be in!
