Just had a thought. Is it possible the Hybrid wasn't talking about the Colonials when he said they must not follow her and was infact talking about the Cylons end. Galactica jumped while inbedded in the colony and we saw what happened to galactica when boomer jumped so close to the ship. So galactica jumping could have pushed the colony into the black hole. Hence being the Harbinger of Death.

I agree, hybrids never say anything that makes much sense . . . they were saying she was dead, and that she would lead them (probably the cylons - cavils, simons etc) to their end and to the end of the human race and cylon race as we know it in the form of hybrids.

I agree with Vladimir (post 15). I've always thought the Hybrid couldn't see an end to the cycle so in fact it believed that as Kara was leading the fleet to Earth Mk. 2, then we would eventually build our versions of cylons (the horribly unnecessary robotics montage) and mass death would ensue. The question of this actually happening is of course left up in the air via the conversation between Angel Caprica Six and Angel Baltar

That's actually a pretty good idea. I haven't read, yet, of any other ideas so closely related to mine about how the show ended. Kara's 'special destiny' about being the harbinger of death was in fact one of the most brilliant things the BSG crew decided to do.
From the beginning of the series, there was the mythology about how there was a cycle that was being repeated and the 13 tribes were the last to be part of the cycle. In the last season, it was revealed that the 13th tribe was a cylon-TYPE of race. They were capable of resurrection but their ancestors destroyed their technology--much like that of the colonial fleet and the Cylons destroying their own. Yada yada, until the final five created their own technology and were resurrected once the original Earth (cylon-TYPE inhabited) was nuked by their own mechanical sentient creation.
>>> They find the 12 colonies are already at war with the Cylons and in order to stop the cycle of violence that the five had known was already occuring, they gave the cylon's the ability to download their conciousness. It does in turn stop the cycle of violence by giving humanity's mechanical creationt the biological view of being 'human.' Ah, but 'all of this has happened before and will happen again,' right?
Well, that's where Kara came in to play. Her 'special destiny' was to lead humanity and their creation to their 'end.' Somewhere in the show, it was said, 'Every end has it's own beginning.' I may be paraphrasing, not sure. Anyways, Kara was meant to die come back as an angel with all of Kara's memories, as Katee Sackhoff felt was what had happened to her character, and led them all to Earth as she had already been there. It was in fact, the body of the REAL Kara Thrace that had crash-teleport-landed on the original Earth.
You're right though, Kara had led 'pure humans' and 'pure cylons' to their end--leading Hera to create a race of hybrid human/cylons that are supposedly what we are on this Earth. (Sorry was bored and wanted to post this whole rant lol)
