In the commentary podcast for last week's episode, Ron Moore says that after Tyrol disables the FTL, he pauses and looks up at something within the workings of Galactica. According to Moore, this moment begins one of the story threads that will carry through to the series finale (the other instance of this was Anders being shot).

So what was Tyrol looking at? Any thoughts?

Tyrol was looking at the hole in the ships bulkhead that will blow open and disable the FTL, making the Galactica a sitting duck for Cavil's fleet. Galactica will be abandoned and the Cylon Basestar will be the new protector of the humans. Thats what I reckon will happen. Great twist if it did.

Did it lool like a tear? I thought it looked more like a picture - like the "map" to Earth that Starbuck kept drawing... I thought it might be some sort of new arrow to point them in the next direction.

my reaction was if the ship tried to jump it would just go boom...

well if it a map to another location then that would set a whole new story line
or even if the did ust the ftl and the ship was going to go boom? i really cant wait to see this one play out

My idea was that, because there was nothing explicit that said it would be the outside of the ship, is that the final five unconsciously built a way to resurrect within the fleet. hehe. It's completely out there, I know. I guess we will know soon enough! :-)
