Season 1 Episode Guide

“A Tribe is Born” (E1 – June 3, 2007)

After only knowing each other for four days, Roxy and PFC. Trevor LeBlanc get married. They move onto his Army post, Fort Marshall, with Roxy’s two children. Lt. Col. Joan Burton, who is married to Roland, a psychiatrist at post hospital, returns home from 2-year tour in Afgantishan. The post gathers for the promotion of Colonel Baker to Brigadier General, which is where Claudia Joy, Denise and Pamela first meet Roxy. During the episode, Denise’s husband, Frank, is deployed, Trevor finds out that he is going to be starting paratrooper training, and Chase, Pamela’s husband, finds out that he made Delta Force. During a “ladies’ night” Roxy tries out for a job as bartender at the Hump Bar. Joan is dealing with her PTSD while Denise deals with her abusive son. Later in Episode, while at a wives’ fundraiser tea on post, Roxy, Claudia Joy, Pamela, Denise, and Roland bond when Pamela goes into labor and relies on this unlikely group of friends to keep her secret of being a paid surrogate.


“After Birth” (E2 – June 10, 2007)

While Pamela is at the hospital, she learns that the couple who paid her to be a surrogate is out of town. Claudia Joy offers her house to the newborns to protect Pamela’s secret. At the LeBlanc’s house, Trevor decides to ask Roxy if he can adopt Roxy’s sons and wants to do it soon because he is being deployed. At the Sherwood’s house, Denise is dealing with her abusive son, Jeremy, who is out of control and she is in need of help to protect herself while her husband is deployed. At the Burton’s house, Joan is having a hard time being home.


“The Art of Separation” (E3 – June 17, 2007)

Claudia Joy’s daughter Amanda gets arrested at a war protest. Roland is trying to make his marriage work with Joan. Joan checks in with a soldier under her command who is suffering from delusions and PTSD. Trevor tries to persuade Roxy’s ex-husband to sign the adoption papers for TJ. Pamela comes clean about her paid surrogacy in a public announcement. Jeremy confesses to Michael Holden about not going to West Point and about assaulting his mother. At a get-together at Claudia Joy’s, the group learns that Denise’s husband was in a helicopter crash in Iraq. No one knows if he survived.


“One of Our Own” (E4 – June 24, 2007)

Denise waits for news on her husband and she desperately wants to go to him as the word of his helicopter crash spreads. Pamela and Chase take some time together to practice shooting at gun range. The adoption of Roxy’s children is made final. The troubled soldier, Sgt. Belgrad, holds Claudia Joy and Roland hostage and demands to talk to his commanding officer, Joan, whose darkest secrets about her tour are exposed to her husband.


“Independence Day” (E5 – July 1, 2007)

Claudia Joy and Roland meet Sgt. Belgrad’s widow. Roxy learns that Marilyn, Fort Marshall’s biggest gossip, is having an affair, but promises to keep it a secret. Jeremy and Denise make a big leap towards making things better in their mother-son relationship. Claudia Joy arranges her annual Independence Day picnic and Pamela is devastated when Chase is suddenly called away on a Delta Force mission. Roland asks Col. Holden to be lenient with Joan. Later, Joan reveals to Roland that she is going to a treatment center in Vermont that deals with PTSD and she will participate in a 30 day program.


“ Who we are” (E6 – July 8, 2007)

Denise gets a welcome surprise and Jeremy confesses his abuse of Denise to his father. Trevor spends some one-on-one time at the pool with the boys before he is deployed. While leaving the pool, Trevor tripped and injures his knee, causing his deployment to be postponed. Roxy’s mother, Marda, pays the family an unexpected visit. Michael and Claudia Joy are concerned when they learn their oldest daughter, Amanda, is dating Jeremy and they disapprove of the relationship. Pamela and Marilyn have a strong conversation about Marilyn’s affair. Frank throws Jeremy out of the house after learning about Jeremy hitting Denise.


“Hail and Farewell” (E7 –July 15, 2007)

Roxy has trouble warming up to her mother but Marda is trying to reconcile. In effort to surprise her daughter, Marda asks Pamela to help plan a birthday party for Roxy. Jeremy decides to enlist in the Army to make things right. Michael and Claudia Joy try to break their daughter away from Jeremy by revealing to Amanda about Jeremy’s abusive past. Jeremy leaves for base training at the end of the episode.


“Only the Lonely” (E8 – July 22, 2007)

Denise decides to pursue nursing at the post hospital after 18 years of not working. While Chase is deployed, Pamela finds that her children’s art teach is a friend from her past. Michael and Claudia Joy announce their family vacation to Emmalin and Amanda. Roxy becomes a friend with a widow who is forced to leave the base but cannot accept that she needs to leave the post as a result of her husband’s death. While Joan is away for PTDS treatment, Roland finds himself in bed with a reporter.


“Nobody’s perfect” (E9 – July 29, 2007)

Joan returns to the Army post and is doing her best to rekindle the flame in her marriage, but Roland begins to have remorse over his affair. Denise argues with Frank over her returning to nursing school because Frank wants her to stay a house wife. Chase returns home on a 36-hour leave. During the episode, Major Weatherford hosts a party and at the party Claudia Joy overhears Lenore Barker and her husband having an argument. Lenore Barker begins to start rumors about Claudia Joy. Gen Baker has a seizure which lands him in the hospital and Michael has to become post commander and makes Joan his number 2. Denise impresses Frank with her nursing skills.


“Dirty Laundry” (E10 – August 5, 2007)

Claudia Joy’s old friend, Hannah White, returns to the post to attend a rose garden memorial for fallen soldiers at Fort Marshall, which one of them is her husband. Controversy begins when Hannah White finds out that her husband was killed by friend fire and in a different country than she was first told. Hannah decides to testify at the U.S. Supreme Court, which causes troubles for the Holden’s household. Claudia Joy debates where her loyalty lies whether with her friend or her husband. The case also starts debates between other army wives. Pamela and Denise disagree with what Hannah is doing and when Roxy tries to stop them from arguing, Pamela demands Roxy choose a side. Also during the episode, the girls did a make-over on Denise to help her sexual relationship with her husband.


“Truth and Consequence” (E11 – August 12, 2007)

General Grayson and his wife visit the post and Lenore takes the chance to sabotage Claudia Joy even more with rumors. Frank finds out that he is being deployed and Denise tries to convince him to visit Jeremy so he doesn’t leave things the way they are. Frank makes an effort to mend things between him and Jeremy. Pamela gets offered a job at the on-post radio station. Roland confesses to Joan about his affair. Joan is upset at first but wants to work on their marriage but Roland doesn’t feel the same way.


“Rules of Engagement” (E12 – August 19, 2007)

Roxy gets assaulted by a drunk at the bar and Roland defends her, which causes a fight and he ends up in jail. Joan bails him out, but he refuses to return home. Roland begins to seek a job in Chicago. Because of the fight, Trevor becomes worried about Roxy working at the Hump Bar and asks her to find another job. Chase returns home and Pamela is more than excited to have him home. Michael is promoted to post commander with Joan permanently as his number 2. Amanda tells her mother that she wants to defer college until the next fall. Amanda sneaks off to see Jeremy. Betty, Roxy’s boss, finds out that she has cancer.


“Goodbye Stranger” (E13 – August 26, 2007)

Amanda breaks up with Jeremy and when she gets home, she confesses to her mother that she believes she may be pregnant. Roland accepts a job at Northwestern University in Chicago while Joan finds out she is pregnant. Amanda decided to go to college instead of waiting a year. Denise achieved her RN degree. When weapons go missing, the Army prepares for a terrorist attack and Michael puts the post on high alert while cancelling his promotion ceremony. Right before Roland leaves for Chicago, Joan tells Roland she is pregnant and doesn’t know what she is going to do about the pregnancy yet. Marilyn finally decides to leave her husband secretly and when he husband finds out he physically assaults her and she runs away from him. Marilyn borrows Pamela’s vehicle and goes to the Hump Bar to meet Eddie. Trevor, Chase, Frank were deployed. Amanda is ready to leave for college and Claudia Joy is going to take her to the bus stop. Claudia Joy decides to make one stop at the Hump Bar to give Betty a check. Meanwhile, Roxy and Denise come to Hump Bar. Roland also stops at the Hump Bar when he notices the girls’ cars outside. Suddenly Marilyn’s husband walks into the bar with a bomb strapped to himself and then Amanda walks into the bar.

Season 2 Episode Guide

6/8/08: Episode 1 – “Would You Know My Name?”
Everyone attempts to return to normal after the aftermath of the Hump Bar bombing. Roxy is worried after still not hearing anything from Trevor since he’s been deployed. Joan is pregnant and is deciding whether she should keep the baby or not. Denise is pulling over time at the hospital, and Claudia Joy is mourning the death of Amanda.

6/15/08: Episode 2 – “Strangers in a Strange Land”
Joan and Roland have reconciled and Joan is struggling with her decision to terminate the pregnancy, but is worried if she does terminate it that it will cost her Roland. Roxy lets Betty stay with her until she recovers. Pamela is frustrated about the secret’s Chase is keeping from her about his work. Claudia Joy has a panic attack at the PX in front of a lot of people, and she is still shutting out her husband and daughter.

6/22/08: Episode 3 – “The Messenger”
Claudia Joy encounters a strange and friendly man. Pamela is busy with having Chase back home and helping her daughter prepare for a play at school. Chase is getting ready to leave again soon and disappoints his family. Roxy and the boys talk to Trevor for the first time through a webcam. Denise bonds with a wounded soldier called Mac. Emmalin starts talking to Roland about her problems and soon starts bringing her friends who are also troubled. Finn develops a crush on Claudia Joy and takes her out on a date. Claudia Joy realizes who the strange man is during the date, and also begins her road to recovery after losing Amanda.

6/29/08: Episode 4 – “Leaving the Tribe”
General Holden is having plans of retiring. Denise meets a new friend and also decides to ride a motorcycle again. She tells Frank about it and he isn’t too happy with it. Roxy learns that Trevor’s been shot but is ok. He calls later to tell her he is coming home. Betty decides to rebuild the Hump Bar and wants Roxy to help her. Roland is offered a job as a high school counselor. Joan is having a hard time telling her soldiers about her pregnancy.

7/6/08: Episode 5 – “The Hero Returns”
Trevor returns home but doesn’t feel comfortable about everyone calling him a hero. Roxy starts to build the new Hump Bar. Frank is concerned about Denise and her motorcycle. He places an ad for it and Denise isn’t too happy about it. Joan meets her replacement.

7/13/08: Episode 6 – “Thicker Than Water”
Claudia Joy is helping a soldier who is reluctant to deploy to Iraq. Rumors start spreading that Denise is having an affair with Getti after they’ve been seen off base together. Betty tells Roxy she’s going to California after she learns her cancer has spread.

7/20/08: Episode 7 – “Uncharted Territory”
The Burton’s find out what the sex of their baby is. Roxy decides she will re-open the Hump Bar with a new name. Jeremy returns home, and Emmalin wants to hang out with him but he refuses to because he is still not over Amanda and is upset that Emmalin is happy. Pamela and Chase attend a cookout with the other Delta Force families.

7/27/08: Episode 8 – “Loyalties”
Chase is arrested in the middle of the night with other Delta Force members. Roland is suspected of having an inappropriate relationship with one of his students. Roxy hires a new waitress who is very flirty. She starts to flirt with Trevor and Roxy catches her and fires her. Denise tries to deny she has any feelings for Getti but later they share a passionate kiss.

8/3/08: Episode 9 – “Casting Out the Net”
Denise pretends to be sick at home so she can avoid seeing Getti at work. 3 soldiers get arrested for being suspected of having drugs and one of them is Jeremy. Roxy enrolls in Roland’s class to obtain a GED. Emmalin meets a boy she really likes and wants to date. Getti tells Denise he will be taking himself out of the equation and later sends Denise a text message asking if she wants to meet him for one last cup of coffee. Denise wants to at first but changes her mind once she finds out Frank is coming home. Later we see Denise about to leave the hospital when the medics wheel in a motorcycle victim and she finds out it’s Getti. Joan experiences a problem with her pregnancy at the end of the episode.

8/10/08: Episode 10 – “Duplicity”
Joan is restricted to bed rest after having pregnancy complications. Trevor is upset when he finds out he won’t be able to return to combat because of his injury. Frank comes home and realizes Denise has changed.

8/17/08: Episode 11 – “Mothers and Wives”
Claudia Joy’s mother makes an unexpected visit. Roland counsels a lonely teenager whose father was recently killed in Iraq. Roxy panics before taking her GED test.
