That's all well and good and a matter of opinion, but the very article you cite mentions how these (and almost all) comics are NOT considered canonical, which is why (as I understood) they aren't fair game. After the Fall IS official canon, because it is the official sixth season of Angel, which is why it is an exception. Again, if an officer or some such of this application wants to tell me I'm wrong about comics needing to be canon for them to be fair game for trivia, then so be it. Respectfully, though, you do not hold such a position. I am merely asking for a clarification of rules I think I recall seeing previously. If I'm wrong, then that's fine; I'd just like the rules to be expressly stated for all our benefit.
P.S. Contrary to your notion that fans absorb all they can, I for one purposefully avoid non-canonical comics. My favorite thing about Buffy/Angel is the massive, epic plot. Reading non-canonical comics throws a wrench into said plot, as events often conflict or don't quite make sense with other things. For the same reason, I avoid Angel novels and fanfiction, since they have as little (or less) relevance to the official plot as the non-canonical comics do. That doesn't make me any less a fan, and I don't think it's fair for you to unilaterally decide what ALL fans do. As proof of this, one or two people have already expressed their support of my opinions on the matter. Therefore, your assertions about what ALL fans do are clearly not accurate.
