Okay here goes, at the moment David Anders and Greg Grunberg are in Heroes which is in its second season. David Anders has also been in episodes of Charmed (as Count Roget in "Show Ghouls"), Grey's Anatomy in a two-parter ("The other side of this life"), Deadwood ("The Catbird Seat") and CSI ("Crow's Feet"). This doesn't do justice to his acting skills. Greg Grunberg has also been in House ("Sex Kills", a great performance I must say), Monk ("Mr. Monk and the actor") and he has an extensive film list which covers diverse productions such as "The Ladykillers" remake, "Hollow Man" and "The Pallbearer". Due to J J he was the pilot in Lost, had a cameo in MI: 3 and was also in Felicity and What about Brian. He has 2 films in post-production: "Magic" about a guardian angel in the form of a dog, he's a detective and there's "Fast Glass" which seems to be an action movie, starring one of the Backstreet Boys and he only has a small part. Needless to say these films aren't worthy of him.

Jennifer Garner justly has had a great career after Alias which covers action roles that she has shown that she's more than capable of due to Alias such as ("Daredevil" where she met her future husband, and the father of her daughter Violet, and its spin-off "Elektra", and more recently "The Kingdom" directed by another Alias alumni Peter Berg the one-time Noah Hicks, aka The Snowman. She was dubbed the new Julia Roberts due to her winning smile and far superior comic timing in romcoms such as "13 Going On 30" (Suddenly 30) and "Catch and Release". Before Alias she was in slacker com "Dude Where's My Car", Felicity obviously and "Pearl Harbor". Since, she had a memorable yet small role as a call girl in "Catch Me If You Can" and the recent and brilliant "Juno" as the adoptive mother. No sign of her reprising directing duties after Alias episode "In Dreams..." though. I know for a fact that she has been acting on stage as well.

Ron Rifkin has an extensive and respectably film background such as "The Sum of all Fears", "The Negotiator", "JFK", he was hung out of a window in "LA Confidential" and was in my personal favourite "Silent Running" from the 70's, After Alias he was in "Pulse" with Lost alum Ian Somerhalder (Boone) and the short-lived "Brothers and Sisters" with Thomas Grace aka Balthazar Getty. The latter was in 6 episodes of Charmed before Alias, "Ladder 49" with Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix, cult favourite "Lost Highway", a tiny role in "Natural Born Killers", "Deuces Wild" and "Judge Dredd". So he has come a long way. He has a couple of films in post-production, a horror flick "Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds" and a road movie titled "West of Brooklyn". Both don't look that promising.

Carl Lumbly had built up a good career guesting in TV shows throughout a range of genres, as well as voice acting for children's cartoons. But in-between it all he has had roles in films such as "Men of Honor". Since he has guested in the critically acclaimed "Battlestar Galactica" for one episode, appeared in "Namibia: The Struggle for Liberation" which was very personal to him, is voice acting again on the new Command and Conquer video game and in "The Alphabet Killer" with one of my favourite actors, Cary Elwes, genre fave Eliza Dushku and Michael Ironside.

Kevin Weisman has been dividing his time between acting, appearing in his band Trainwreck with Kyle Gass from Tenacious D and his family; his wife is expecting her second baby this month. Before Alias he was in Roswell, The X-Files, Felicity obviously and Buffy in which he played Dreg, one of Glory's minions in season 5. Since then he has been a hobbit lover in "Clerks II", an episode of "Ghost Whisperer" (The Ghost Within), 4 episodes of "Moonlight" and one of "Chuck". So it seems as though he is carrying on from where he left off. However he has completed a war film called "Bohica" and a western called "High Midnight" with vampires which stars Ted Raimi and William Baldwin. Sounds good...

Victor Garber has most likely stuck with his stage acting though he does have "Sleepless in Seattle" (as Tom Hanks friend in that memorable scene where they are discussing "An Affair to Remember and "The Dirty Dozen and burst into tears), "The First Wives Club", "Titanic" (as the architect he designed it, he heroically went down with the ship because he believed he was to blame) and "Legally Blonde" as the lecherous lawyer who comes onto Elle. He has an enviable reputation and back catalogue both in TV and film as well as on stage. Since and during Alias he was in Will and Grace (Saving Grace again Part 2), Ugly Betty (Grin and Bear it), 14 episodes of Justice and 6 episodes of Eli Stone. He is currently filming "Milk" directed by the famous Gus Van Sant, about Harvey Milk played by Sean Penn, the first openly gay government official, the San Francisco supervisor to Garber's mayor. It also has a great cast, other than Penn, which includes Emile Hirsch, James Franco and Diego Luna. So I'm very excited for him. I might even go to see it with a delicious cast like that.

Michael Vartan has been coasting for a while, living off romcom interests in the admittedly sublime "Never Been Kissed" alongside the gorgeous Drew Barrymore, "It Had to be you" and opposite Madonna in the awful "The Next Best Thing". This was all pre Alias however, when he was also in The Pall Bearer" which may have got him his role in "Friends" as Richard's (Tom Selleck) son, a love interest for Monica. It was a brilliant episode made even better with his presence. There were also 2 episodes of Ally McBeal (Without a Net and Two's a Crowd) and a TV movie called "The Mists of Avalon" in which he was Lancelot, naturally. After and during Alias there was "One Hour Photo" with Robin Williams, "Monster-In-Law", another romcom with Jennifer Lopez this time and the legend that is Jane Fonda, and "Rogue" an Australian film that's got good press about a giant crocodile. He was in 11 episodes of Big Shots and in the forthcoming "Jolene" about a teenage orphan, with Dermot Mulroney, Keira Knightley's other half Rupert Friend and Denise Richards. He was also in an episode of the short-lived Kitchen Confidential where he got to use his French accent. This starred Bradley Cooper, aka Will Tippin.

Bradley Cooper was relatively new to the biz when he joined Alias, but since he was in an episode of "Miss Match" where he was a love interest for Alicia Silverstone, 6 episodes of Touching Evil, 14 of Jack and Bobby and 5 of Nip/Tuck. However he had a massive breakthrough with "Wedding Crashers" where he played the psychotic, but still strangely very attractive, fiancé of the lovely Rachel McAdams, herself the love interest of Owen Wilson. He was in another romcom with Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey in "Failure to Launch" and a few bit parts in other films where he's depressingly low on the cast list. He has 4 future films however one which is very promising is the starring role in a literary adaptation called "Midnight Meat Train", where he's a photographer investigating a serial killer played by Vinnie Jones, yes I know. There's also "Case 49" with Renee Zellweger playing a social worker who gets embroiled in a complicated situation, this also stars Callum Keith Rennie, whom I incidentally adore, the fabulous Ian McShane and Adrian Lester. He's the love interest of Sandra Bullock in "All About Steve" playing the titular Steve, stars alongside the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck (hopefully he got to catch up with Jennifer Garner), Jennifer Connelly, up-and-coming Justin Long and Drew Barrymore (who got together during the making of the film incidentally) in "He's Just Not that into you" a cast that finally does his acting skills justice and "Yes Man" with Jim Carrey, Zooey Deschanel and Terence Stamp, a sort of "Liar Liar" except he can only say yes instead of telling the truth. Looks like Bradley Cooper has the most promising career of all the Alias actors and I couldn't be more delighted for him. I was devastated when he left, but it has turned out to have been a very wise decision.

Whereas Merrin Dungey, who also left early, pre Alias racked up spots on Babylon 5, ER and Seinfeld and was in "Deep Impact", Ed:TV and Friends (The one where Paul's the man). She was Stevie's mother in Malcolm in the Middle and post Alias in Summerland for 26 episodes, Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy and hasn't been in anything since "King of Queens" ended. Hopefully her career hasn't stalled.

That's the main actors, as far as I'm concerned.

Concerning the later and less regular actors, Rachel Nichols, a self-confessed Alias fan before she joined the show, (a fact that makes me very envious and yet creates a great deal of empathy towards her and her character) was in an episode of Sex and the city before Alias as well as a few other small roles in the likes of the "Dumb and Dumber" prequel/sequel type thing, "The Amityville Horror" with Alias alum Melissa George and 13 episodes of The Inside as a special agent, which probably got her her role in Alias. She was also in "Shopgirl" with Claire Danes, Steve Martin and Jason Schwartzman. Since, her career looks great, she was in Oscar bait "Charlie Wilson's War" which has a fantastic cast, has a role in JJ's "Star Trek" and a major role in the "GI Joe" film. She is also now a gorgeous red head.

Fan fave Terry O'Quinn (Kendall), apart from currently confusing viewers of Lost with his emmy award-winning turn as the enigmatic John Locke, has appeared in 7 episodes of the West Wing, since Alias. He has a long filmography containing a range of TV parts. I caught him in an episode of Diagnosis Murder for instance, he was the bad guy unsurprisingly. But he was also in the stunning "Primal Fear" starring the then up-and-coming Edward Norton, Laura Linney and Richard Gere, "Tombstone" as the mayor and was even Howard Hughes in "The Rocketeer". See what I mean. He has simply taken his enigma full circle. An amazing resume for an amazing actor.

Syd's arch nemesis Anna Espinosa was played by Gina Torres, wife of Morpheus himself, Laurence Fishburne, has seemingly always played strong women as she has appeared in Dark Angel starring a then unknown Jessica Alba (who has since stated that the show was the fore-runner to Alias, not sure I agree with that), La Femme Nikita, Hercules and even played Cleopatra in Xena. She was the demonic god Jasmine in Buffy spin-off Angel (in some ways a better show than Buffy), guested in "The Matrix" sequels and played Zoe in "Firefly" and "Serenity" of course, the less said about that the better: the wounds are still raw. You can also catch her in 7 episodes of 24, voicing a character in "Justice League", 3 episodes of "The Shield", 18 episodes of "Standoff" and one of "Without a Trace". She acts with her husband in "Five Fingers" which also stars Ryan Phillippe and Colm Meaney, has Chris Rock as her husband (poor woman) in "I think I love my Wife" and has the starring role, as far as I can see, in the forthcoming "Don't let me drown" about the Latino community in a post 9/11 world.

Another Latino, Mia Maestro, had a few roles pre Alias, most importantly as a relative of "Frida" and the love interest in "The Motorcycle Diaries." During and since Alias, there have been small independent films since as the harrowing "Secuestro Express", the TV movie of "The Ten Commandments" and big budget blockbusting roles such as a stowaway in "Poseidon." She has 3 new films: "Visioneers" and "The Speed of Thought" which have limited info, and "The Summit" about a corrupt government which has an interesting cast that includes Christopher Plummer and James Purefory.

Melissa George has also juggled smaller and larger films. Since starting out as the aptly named Angel in Australian soap Home and Away, she has racked up an impressive array of work. This covers interesting films such as "The Limey", "Dark City" and "Mulholland Dr.", a stint of 8 episodes in "Thieves", lighter fare such as the lesbian babysitter for Emma in "Friends", superior romcom "Down With Love", which stars Renee Zellweger and the charming Ewan McGregor and a duplicitous understudy in Monk. Post Alias she has had starring roles as the mother in "The Amityville Horror" alongside Ryan Reynolds, the wife of Clive Owen in "Derailed" which also stars Jennifer Aniston and the fabulous Vincent Cassel, the estranged wife of Josh Hartnett in "30 Days of Night and a detective in "WAZ" investigating sick murders, out now I think. She gets all the best leading men, I'm so jealous. Carrying on the leading lady tradition she is due to be mentally tortured in "The Betrayed" and acts alongside Jason Isaacs in "Stopping Power". I hope she continues in this way; I have liked her since Home and Away and despite her bad accent, stealing Syd's love away and acting in the least best season of Alias can stop me wishing her the best.

I've left Lena Olin to last as I reckon she deserves a section all to herself. Already possessing an extensive back catalogue of Swedish films, she presents a varied resume that encompasses the late and great Ingmar Bergman's "Fanny and Alexander", surely her first major role on the world scene, she was directed by the now famous Philip Kaufman in "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" alongside Juliette Binoche and Daniel Day-Lewis, proving her thespian, international and independent credentials. She was the main female character in "Romeo is Bleeding", with one of the absolute best actors today, Gary Oldman. Her character in it is as a seductress Russian assassin, a possible precursor to Irina Derevko. Later she was in lighter fare such as the superhero comedy "Mystery Men", “Casanova” with the late Heath Ledger and an abused wife in "Chocolat", with Juliette Binoche again and the best actor of his generation Johnny Depp. She was previously in "The Ninth Gate" with Depp, a Roman Polanksi film, "Queen of the Damned" with Stuart Townsend and the late Aaliyah, and alongside Hollywood legend Harrison Ford in "Hollywood Homicide". She has only done two films after Alias: a thriller with Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen called "Awake" and this year's "Devil You Know" as a reclusive ex-movie star with a dark secret, also starring Rosamund Pike as her daughter I think. Playing such interesting characters, in interesting films and with interesting actors has ensured that she maintains a lasting career, has garnered her deserved attention and created a respected reputation. All of which seems to have been imbued in her role as Irina Derevko. With such a background, I hope it now adds to the enjoyment of watching her in Alias.
